BYLAWS - To accommodate the new Council Governance changes, these bylaws will be heard prior to the public hearing

Council Governance – Procedure Bylaw and Committees Bylaw (Charlotte Satink, Manager of Legislative Service and IGM)

Council is being provided with a Procedure Bylaw and Committees Bylaw to establish a new Council Committee governance structure.

2.2

Council Governance – Standing Committees Enabling Policies (Charlotte Satink, Manager of Legislative Service and IGM)

Council is being provided with a bylaw to amend the Emergency Management Bylaw, a bylaw to amend the Code of Conduct Bylaws, the Airdrie Public Library Board Bylaw, the Airdrie Board of Youth Affairs Bylaw and the Community Requests Policy to support a new Council committee governance structure.

PUBLIC HEARING - Will begin immediately following the Council Governance items

Public Hearing on Bylaw No. B-04/2024 - Land Use Bylaw Amendment Development and Subdivision Authorities (Willow Czaban, Planner III)

A Public Hearing is being held on Bylaw No. B-04/2024, being a bylaw to amend Land Use Bylaw No. B-01/2016, by updating references to development and subdivision authorities, and to repeal the Airdrie Subdivision and Development Authority Bylaw No. B-34/2004.

Council will be asked to give three readings to the Bylaw.

Council is being provided with information regarding the upcoming 2024 municipal census.

Council is being presented with an update on the growth and success of the Airdrie Fair Access low-income subsidy program over the past year.

Building Safer Communities Fund Project Update (Lynn Mackenzie, Manager Municipal Enforcement and RCMP Support Services)

Council is being provided with an update on the Building Safer Communities Fund project.

2023 Fourth Quarter Cash and Investment Report (Monica Labait, Manager of Revenue and Assessment Services)

Council Budget Committee is being asked to accept the 2023 Fourth Quarter Cash and Investment Report for information.

Drive Happiness Seniors Assisted Transportation Program (Dave Maffitt, Chair Volunteer Airdrie)

Council is being presented with information on Volunteer Airdrie Society's partnership with the Drive Happiness Seniors Association to provide the Drive Happiness Seniors Assisted Transportation Program and is being asked to consider providing financial assistance.

2023 Fourth Quarter Financial Update - Preliminary (Stephanie Mitchell, Team Leader Budget and Financial Planning)

Council is being provided with the 2023 Fourth Quarter Financial Update (preliminary) for information and is being asked to endorse the yearend operating surplus split.

City of Airdrie Sponsorship Policy (Brad Anderson, Manager of Recreation)

Council is asked to endorse a Sponsorship Policy P-FIN-28-C which provides a pathway for the City to generate additional revenue while safeguarding the City’s image, values and interests.

Request for Proclamation/Illumination Epilepsy Awareness/ Purple Day (Charlotte Satink, Manager of Legislative Services and IGM/City Clerk)

Council is being asked to proclaim March 26, 2024 as Purple Day in Airdrie and light up City Hall in purple lights for Epilepsy awareness.

Request for Proclamation/Flag Raising - Airdrie Pride Society (Charlotte Satink, Manager of Legislative Services and IGM/City Clerk)

Council is being asked to proclaim March 31, 2024 as Transgender Day of Visibility in Airdrie and raise the transgender flag at Nose Creek Park.

12.3

Request for Proclamation/Illumination/Flag Raising - Airdrie Pride Society (Charlotte Satink, Manager of Legislative Services and IGM/City Clerk)

Council is being asked to proclaim the month of June 2024 as Pride Month in Airdrie, raise the pride flag in Nose Creek Park between June 1 and 30 and illuminate City Hall in pride colours on June 22, 2024.
