Council is being provided with an update on the potential cost and timeline for a City of Airdrie contribution towards a community use aspect of the planned Airdrie Francophone High School and in order to proceed, the City would need to provide a firm contribution commitment of up to $4 million to the project by the end of November 2023.

Council is being presented with the results of the black cart survey and a recommendation for an automated black cart garbage program based on survey results.

Council is being provided with an updated needs assessment and spatial plan for the Highland Park Fire Station and Training Centre scheduled for northeast Airdrie.

Council is being asked to proclaim November 22, 2023 as National Housing Day in Airdrie to recognize the work done by housing partners to improve access to housing for everyone in Canada and bring attention to the importance of housing and its impact on the community’s well-being.

Council is being asked to proclaim November 8, 2023 as World Town Planning day in Airdrie and light up City Hall in green lights on November 7 to acknowledge the accomplishments of professional planners and the critical role of planning in creating healthy, livable and sustainable communities.

Council is being asked to proclaim November 12 to 18, 2023 as Métis Week in Airdrie and illuminate City Hall in blue lights on November 12 to celebrate the heritage, history and contributions of Métis people to Alberta and Canada and to recognize Louis Riel day on November 16, 2023.
