Public Hearing / Bylaw No. B-29/2024 – Land Use Bylaw Amendment DC-55 (Jeff Brunen, Senior Planner)

A Public Hearing is being held on Bylaw No. B-29/2024, being a bylaw to amend Land Use Bylaw No. B-01/2016 by removing Direct Control District DC-39 and replacing it entirely with Direct Control District DC-55, to allow for a future 5-storey mixed use development at 905 Edmonton Trail SE.

Immediately following the public hearing, Council will be asked to give three readings to the bylaw.

Proclamation/Illumination - World Cerebral Palsy Day (Charlotte Satink, Manager of Legislative Services and IGM/City Clerk)

Mayor Brown has proclaimed October 6, 2024 as World Cerebral Palsy Day in Airdrie and will light up City Hall in green lights to bring attention to this neuromotor disability.

Council is being provided with the 2024 Council Focus Areas mid-year update report for information.

ABMunis Resolutions Summary and Review 2024 (Leona Esau, Intergovernmental Liaison and Megan Stewart, Grant Writer and Researcher)

Airdrie City Council is being presented with an overview of feedback and vote recommendations on the twenty-seven resolutions that will debated at the 2024 Alberta Municipalities Annual Convention, and is being asked to endorse vote recommendations to provide direction to elected voting delegates attending the 2024 Convention.

Letter of Support - Airdrie BMX Association (Charlotte Satink, Manager of Legislative Services and IGM/City Clerk)

Council is being asked to ratify a letter of support for Airdrie BMX Association’s application to the Community Facility Enhancement Program – Small Funding Stream for $70,000 in funding for their track facility upgrade project.
