A Public Hearing is being held on Bylaw No. B-33/2024, being a bylaw to amend the supportive housing regulations within Land Use Bylaw No. B-01/2016.

Immediately following the public hearing, Council will be asked to give three readings to the bylaw.

Building Safer Communities Update Q4 2024 (Jessica Dudek, Youth Engagement Liaison)

Council is being provided with an update on the Building Safer Communities project.

7.2

Proclamation - Kawasaki Disease Awareness Day (Charlotte Satink, Manager of Legislative Services and IGM/City Clerk)

Deputy Mayor Spearman has proclaimed January 26, 2025 as Kawasaki Disease Awareness day in Airdrie to bring attention to the leading cause of acquired heart disease in children and help save children’s hearts and lives from its effects.

BYLAWS (not requiring public hearing)

8.1

2025 Borrowing Bylaws Final Reading (Stephanie Mitchell, Team Leader Budget and Financial Planning)

Council is being asked to give Second and Third Reading to Borrowing Bylaws No. B-01/2025, a bylaw to fund $89,990,011 of the Southwest Recreation Centre – Ph1 Construction; B-02/2025, a bylaw to fund $6,847,700 of 2025 Sanitary projects; and B-03/2025, a bylaw to fund $548,648 of 2025 Fire Vehicle and Equipment projects.

Advancing Housing Solutions through a Made-in-Airdrie Approach (Jessica DeVreeze, Team Leader Affordable Housing)

Tabled from the December 17, 2024 meeting

Council is being asked to endorse a set of non-binding recommendations developed through engagement with the Airdrie Housing Solutions Working Group.

9.2

Habitat For Humanity Second Funding Request (Monica Labait, Manager of Treasury and Christa Sanders, Affordable Housing Capital Strategist)

Council is being presented with a follow up request from Habitat for Humanity for an additional City contribution of $275,000 in support of their project located in the Airdrie community of Bayview.

9.3

North Highland Park Update (Daria McDonald, Senior Planner)

Tabled from the December 17, 2024 meeting

Council is being provided with a recommendation regarding growth management in North Highland Park.

9.4

Amendments to the Social Policy (Jessie Bryant, Social Planner)

Council is being asked to endorse Social Policy COM-72-C, a new version with amendments that align with Council’s new committee structure, current policy standards and minor edits that better reflect the intent of the principles.

9.5

FCSS Policy Amendments (Natasha Guillot, Social Planner)

Council is being asked to endorse Family and Community Support Services Policy COM-71-C, a new version with amendments that align with Council’s new committee structure, current policy standards and minor edits to better reflect the intent of the principles.

9.6

Participation Support for Subdivision and Development Appeal Board Citizen Members Policy (Chelsea Phillips, Legislative Officer)

Council is being asked to endorse the new Participation Support for Subdivision and Development Appeal Board Citizen Members Policy and approve the recommendation to have Subdivision and Development Appeal Board hearings take place every three weeks on Thursdays starting at 9:00 a.m.
