Proclamation/Illumination Request - School Age Care Directors Association of Alberta (Charlotte Satink, Manager of Legislative Services and IGM/City Clerk

Council is being asked to proclaim April 19, 2024 as Lights On Afterschool Alberta Day in Airdrie and light up City Hall in blue and yellow lights to recognize the impact after school programs make for children, families and communities.

BYLAWS (not requiring public hearing)

7.1

Borrowing Bylaw No. B-05/2024 – South West Recreation Centre (Stephanie Mitchell, Team Leader Budget and Financial Planning)

Council is being asked to give Second and Third Reading to Borrowing Bylaw No. B-05/2024 to fund the South West Recreation Centre – Design project.

7.2

Borrowing Bylaw No. B-07/2024 - Highland Park Fire Station (Stephanie Mitchell, Team Leader Budget and Financial Planning)

Council is being asked to give Second and Third Reading to Borrowing Bylaw No. B-07/2024 to fund the Highland Park Fire Station project.

Borrowing Bylaw No. B-08/2024 – Fire Vehicle and Equipment (Stephanie Mitchell, Team Leader Budget and Financial Planning) 

Council is being asked to give Second and Third Reading to Borrowing Bylaw No. B-08/2024 to fund Fire Vehicle and Equipment Project 1299 and 1303.

AGENDA REPORTS

8.1

NE Regional Park Master Plan (Justine Berger, Jr. Corporate Land Administrator)

Council is being presented with the master plan and implementation strategy for the NE Regional Park and is being asked to endorse the master plan.

8.2

Gwacheon Park Update (Kim Harris, Culture and Heritage)

Council is being provided with information on a project to upgrade Gwacheon Park to enhance its cultural elements and align with the intent of the Gwacheon scroll when the park was established in friendship with Airdrie's Sister City.

8.3

Advancing Airdrie’s Housing Journey (Jessica DeVreeze, Affordable Housing)

Council is being provided with a summary of municipal actions that will support housing diversity and inclusion in Airdrie for endorsement.

8.4

Downtown Incentives Policy (Adena Malyk, Downtown Revitalization Coordinator)

Council is being asked to rescind the seven Downtown Incentives Resolutions and replace with the Downtown Incentives Policy and approve an operating budget adjustment of $1M from the Downtown Incentives Reserve to fund the Incentives Program.
